Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the AstroMaster mobile app (the "App") provided by Bhuwan Shrestha ("we", "us", "our"). By using the App you agree to these Terms.

If you do not agree, do not use the App.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use the App (16 in the EEA/UK). By using the App, you represent that you meet this age requirement and have the legal capacity to enter into these Terms.

2. Your account

To access most features you must sign in with a valid email or Google account via Firebase Authentication. You are responsible for:

• Providing accurate registration information
• Keeping your sign-in credentials secure
• All activity that occurs under your account

Notify us immediately at bhuwanenoch@gmail.com if you suspect unauthorized access to your account.

3. Acceptable use

You agree NOT to:

• Use the App for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable laws
• Misrepresent your identity or use someone else's account
• Attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, or extract source code from the App or our API
• Use automated tools (bots, scrapers) to access the App or API without our express written consent
• Probe, scan, or test the vulnerability of our systems, or breach any security or authentication measures
• Interfere with or disrupt the App, servers, or networks
• Upload or transmit malicious code, viruses, or harmful content
• Use the App to harass, defame, or harm others
• Resell, sublicense, or otherwise commercialize App content without permission

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.

4. Astrology disclaimer — important

AstroMaster computes and interprets astrological information based on the date, time, and place of birth you provide, using classical Vedic and Western astrology principles.

You agree that:

• You will not rely on the App for medical, psychological, mental health, financial, legal, employment, or other professional advice. Always consult appropriately qualified professionals for such matters.
• You will not make significant life decisions (marriage, divorce, medical treatment, investment, legal action, etc.) based solely on App readings.
• The App is provided for personal, entertainment, and interpretive purposes only.
• AI-enhanced readings (when enabled) are LLM-rewritten versions of computed interpretations. Like all generative AI output, they may occasionally contain errors. They are not authoritative and do not replace classical text.

5. Accuracy of computations

We use the Swiss Ephemeris library for astronomical computations, which is highly accurate by industry standards. However:

• Birth-time accuracy directly affects chart accuracy (especially Lagna and house cusps)
• Geocoding (place → coordinates) is provided via Open-Meteo and may not always identify the exact location intended
• Timezone handling depends on historical timezone databases that may have edge cases for past dates

You are responsible for providing accurate birth data. We do not guarantee the accuracy of any interpretation, and we are not liable for decisions made based on App output.

6. Intellectual property

6.1 Our content

The App, its design, code, branding, written interpretations, and original content are owned by Bhuwan Shrestha and protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.

You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, or create derivative works from App content without our prior written permission.

Classical astrological text and traditional formulas are not subject to copyright; our specific phrasing and curated rule databases are.

6.2 Your content

You retain ownership of any content you create or upload (profile, saved charts, etc.). By submitting content to the App, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to store, process, and display that content for the purpose of providing the App's functionality.

7. In-app purchases

The App offers an optional in-app purchase: the Complete Vedic Life Report (a personalized PDF). When you purchase it:

• Payment is processed by Google Play, not by us
• Pricing varies by country and is set in Google Play Console
• Purchase is non-refundable once the report is generated (within minutes of purchase)
• Refund requests must go through Google Play, not us — see Google Play's refund policy
• If a technical error prevents your report from being delivered after payment, contact us at bhuwanenoch@gmail.com and we'll either deliver the report or facilitate a refund

8. Notifications

If you opt in to push notifications (e.g. daily panchang alerts), you consent to receive them. You can disable notifications at any time:

• In-app: Settings → Notifications
• At the OS level: device Settings → AstroMaster → Notifications

9. Termination

You may delete your account at any time (see our account deletion page). Upon deletion, all associated data is permanently removed within 30 days as described in our Privacy Policy.

We may terminate or suspend your access at any time, with or without cause, including for violations of these Terms. On termination, your right to use the App ends immediately.

10. Disclaimer of warranties

THE APP IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION:

• WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY OR FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE
• WARRANTIES OF ACCURACY, RELIABILITY, OR COMPLETENESS
• WARRANTIES THAT THE APP WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, SECURE, OR ERROR-FREE
• WARRANTIES THAT ASTROLOGICAL INTERPRETATIONS ARE ACCURATE, COMPLETE, OR PREDICTIVE OF REAL-WORLD EVENTS

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties.

11. Limitation of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW:

• We shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of or related to your use of the App
• Our total liability for any claim arising out of or relating to the App, regardless of the cause of action, shall not exceed the greater of (a) the amount you paid us for the App in the 12 months preceding the claim, or (b) USD 10
• We are not liable for any decisions you make, actions you take, or outcomes you experience based on App content or interpretations

Some jurisdictions do not allow exclusion of certain warranties or limitations on certain liabilities. In such jurisdictions, our liability is limited to the maximum extent permitted by law.

12. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Bhuwan Shrestha and AstroMaster from any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of:

• Your use of the App
• Your violation of these Terms
• Your violation of any law or third-party right
• Decisions or actions you take based on App content

13. Governing law and dispute resolution

These Terms are governed by the laws of Nepal, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.

Any disputes shall first be subject to good-faith negotiation. If not resolved within 30 days, disputes shall be settled in the courts of Kathmandu, Nepal, unless your local consumer-protection law requires otherwise.

For EU/UK consumers: nothing in these Terms limits your rights under mandatory consumer-protection laws of your country of residence.

14. Google Play additional terms

If you obtained the App from Google Play, your use is also subject to the Google Play Terms of Service.

15. Changes to these Terms

We may modify these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be notified via in-app message or email. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance.

16. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is held invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in full force and effect.
